LAS VEGAS (May 18, 2026) – MGM Grand announced additional headliners joining the 2026 Aces of Comedy series at the MGM Grand Theater, including comedy star Jay Leno returning to the stage and Emmy-nominated actress and comedian Janelle James making her venue debut.
Tickets for the 2026 Aces of Comedy series shows go on sale Friday, May 22 at 10 a.m. PT and can be purchased online at mgmgrand.com, ticketmaster.com or at any MGM Resorts box office. Members of MGM Rewards, MGM Resorts International’s loyalty program, will receive access to a pre-sale Thursday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to Friday, May 22 at 9:59 a.m. Guests must be 16 years of age or older to attend all shows, and those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
The Aces of Comedy series is best known for its impressive roster of comedians, showcasing both stand-up legends and rising stars. Guests can look forward to laugh-out-loud moments and sharp wit from each comedian, guaranteeing an evening of unforgettable entertainment. JANELLE JAMES

Janelle James stars in the scene-stealing role of ‘Ava Coleman’ in the Emmy Award-nominated ABC comedy series “Abbott Elementary.” James has received multiple accolades for her performance, including a 2026 Critic’s Choice win for “Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” and four consecutive Emmy Award nominations for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series,” as well as nominations for Golden Globe, Independent Spirit and Gotham Awards. James also earned the 2023 NAACP Image Award for “Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series,” nominations for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 NAACP Image Awards for “Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” and three nominations for the Television Critics Association Award for “Individual Achievement in Comedy.” Next, James will film her highly anticipated Netflix Comedy Special. Previously, James served as both a writer and actor for Showtime’s “Black Monday” and Apple’s animated series “Central Park,” and her stand-up career has included touring with Chris Rock, Amy Schumer and David Cross, among others. James’ latest stand-up special is featured in Season 3 of Netflix’s “The Standups.” Her comedic chops have featured her as one of Variety’s Top Ten Comedians to Watch in 2020 and a “New Face” at the Just For Laughs Festival Montreal in 2016 while also being named one of The 50 Most Funny People in Brooklyn in the same year. Her debut comedy album “Black and Mild” was released on all major streaming networks in 2017 to rave reviews. James’ hosting duties have included the 2023 Writers Guild of America Awards and the 2022 ABC game show “The Final Straw.” She also took over the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, now known as the Janelle James Comedy Festival in Brooklyn.
