DETROIT – MGM Grand Detroit proudly hosted the 2024 MGM Resorts Foundation Fair, an event for employees and representatives from local nonprofits. This event showcased the Foundation’s significant impact on the community through charitable grants and partnerships. MGM Resorts is committed to corporate social responsibility and celebrated the collective efforts of its employees in supporting local causes.
During the event, a special grant presentation revealed that the MGM Resorts Foundation had donated $301,616.12 to community organizations in 2024. The donations will support initiatives addressing food insecurity, health and wellness, education, family services, homelessness, and more.
“The MGM Resorts Foundation was established in 2002 as an engagement opportunity for employees to contribute to charitable causes of the community, funded by team member donations,” shared Airi-Anah Bynum, Community Affairs Partner at MGM Detroit. “I can't stress enough how important the work that we partner with these organizations do is; our shared commitment to the community is something we will continue to uphold, and it's something we can really be proud about.”
Matt Buckley, President and COO of MGM Resorts Midwest Group, shared this sentiment and praised the dedication of the MGM team members. “It’s always great when you see the turnout from our team members, whether it's volunteering or philanthropy. We are on pace to achieve our goals for 2024, and I want to thank our team members for their continuous support, especially through our Continuous Giver Program. The MGM Resorts Foundation allows employees to pick the charity that means the most to them and give their money directly, making a direct impact on causes they care about.”
The 2024 Foundation Fair also featured participation from 25 nonprofit organizations, including Gleaners Food Bank, Alternatives for Girls, Covenant House Michigan, and Racquet Up Detroit, among others. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with these nonprofits, learn about their missions, and explore new ways to get involved.
