Wolfgang Puck to Debut Caramá at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino
Renowned Chef to Unveil a Culinary Journey dedicated to his mother opening this January in Lupo Space
LAS VEGAS, NV – Celebrated chef, restaurateur and cultural icon Wolfgang Puck is set to introduce a new experience to Las Vegas with the opening of Caramá, showcasing his great love for his mother, a chef, who taught him the importance of using the finest ingredients and sharing them with friends and family. Showcasing the cuisine of Italy, the restaurant will take over the Lupo space at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and reopen its doors in January 2024.
“Caramá will transform the expected into something entirely new. Guests can anticipate a culinary experience that will be nothing short of extraordinary,” said Wolfgang Puck. “Growing up on the border of Italy, I experienced first-hand, the cuisine of all the neighboring regions, embracing their textures, sounds, smells, and flavors. Caramá will take you on such a memorable culinary journey.”
Guests will indulge in menu items from all regions of Italy as well as many of Wolfgang’s personal favorites. Under the guidance of restaurateur and wine expert Piero Selvaggio, the extensive wine list will allow guests to sample bottles from some of the most famous vineyards, delighting the palate with vintages that will take over hearts and minds and complement the culinary delights.
Mandalay Bay President & COO Chuck Bowling said, “Wolfgang Puck has been an important part of the Mandalay Bay fabric for nearly 25 years, and we’re excited by the upcoming transformation into Caramá, which reflects the new wave of offerings being introduced throughout the resort. Chef Puck is known for exceptional dining experiences and this new concept is sure to be an exciting new culinary destination that further cements his impeccable legacy.”
Upon entering Caramá, guests will experience the thrill of discovery, as Denis Frison’s design explores the timeless beauty of Italy throughout the dining room. A night may begin with a bespoke cocktail in the stylish cocktail bar followed by Roman artichokes and prosciutto crudo at the interactive Salumi Station, which pairs perfectly with an aromatic glass of Friuli or a Franciacorta. Frison’s hand-tailored uniforms evoke a sense of sophisticated style and fun, infusing a touch of Northern Italy’s sartorial heritage into the dining experience.
Caramá will be a place where passion for food fuels the desire to experiment, create, entertain and remember, where pure artistry is drawn to flavor. It will be a place where the essence of Italy meets the innovative spirit of Wolfgang Puck, and where tradition is redefined for a new era.
Additional details on the restaurant, including design, dining and cocktail menus, will be shared in the coming months.
