LAS VEGAS – Make a courageous move in the fight against childhood cancer and go bald with New York-New York Hotel & Casino during its 14th annual St. Baldrick’s Day head-shaving event Saturday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

New York-New York has rallied the local community for more than a decade resulting in millions of dollars raised for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy a fun day on the hotel’s iconic Brooklyn Bridge with live entertainment and celebrity guest head-shavers, as participants shed their hair to support St. Baldrick’s.

“We are very proud to support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and the participants who help raise funds for lifesaving children’s cancer research,” said Mike Neubecker, President & COO of New York-New York & MGM Grand. “This event is one of the most special days of the year and we encourage everyone to join in however they can so we can continue supporting those impacted by childhood cancer.”

Participants interested in shedding their locks for the cause can register online here or on-site the day of the event. Group registration is also available for teams and organizations.

Throughout the day, friends, family and spectators can commemorate the day with photos with the city’s most celebrated names in sports and entertainment who will be lending a hand as celebrity head shavers and emcees.

About St. Baldrick’s Foundation

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. St. Baldrick’s coordinates its signature head-shaving events worldwide where participants collect pledges to shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer, raising money to fund research. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has awarded more than $127 million to support lifesaving research, making the Foundation the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. St. Baldrick’s funds are granted to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world and to younger professionals who will be the experts of tomorrow. Funds awarded also enable hundreds of local institutions to participate in national pediatric cancer clinical trials, and the new International Scholar grants train researchers to work in developing countries.
