LAS VEGAS (August 30, 2023) – MGM Resorts International will host a spectacular weekend celebration in honor of Mexican Independence Day. Guests will have the opportunity to commemorate the holiday with unforgettable festivities and entertainment at select venues Sept. 15 – 16. 

MGM Grand Hotel & Casino 

Guests are invited to dance the night away and enjoy food, specialty craft cocktails and live entertainment at MGM Grand’s Level Up, Centrifuge and Whiskey Down. In addition to the fun activities at each venue, a taco cart will be open 9 p.m. - 4 a.m. at Centrifuge.  

Level Up: Friday, Sept. 15; 10 p.m. – 4 a.m. Don Julio and Modelo drink specials, live entertainment and festive décor will be featured at Level Up where XCSO Band will perform 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. and, rotating through the night, DJ Absent Mynded will play a mix of Latin music 10 p.m. - 4 a.m. 

Level Up: Saturday, Sept. 16; 8 p.m. – 4 a.m. To kick off the night, strolling Mariachis will perform 8 - 11 p.m. beginning at Level Up then making their way to MGM Grand’s lobby before ending the night back at the venue. The popular Latin band, Volume 1, will perform 10 p.m. - 2 a.m., and, rotating through the night, DJ Absent Mynded will play a mix of Latin music 10 p.m. - 4 a.m.  

Centrifuge: Friday, Sept. 15 – 16; 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.  

The ultra-modern cocktail bar and lounge will offer a cocktail menu and host a DJ who will be spinning top Latin hits 10 p.m. - 4 a.m.  

Whiskey Down: Friday, Sept. 15 – 16; 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.  

MGM Grand’s signature gaming lounge invites guests to enjoy a night of action with mezcal flights and cocktails, and live Latin music 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Friday’s live entertainment will feature Hector Esparza; headlining Saturday will be Gabriel Guardian.  

MGM Grand Pool Complex: Friday, Sept. 15 – 16; noon - 5 p.m. 

Grand Pool Complex will host an all-day pool party featuring Mariachis from noon to 1 p.m.; swag, including sombreros; sunblock and towels; and a live DJ from noon to 5 p.m. 

New York-New York Hotel & Casino 

Center Bar: Friday, Sept. 15 – 16; 10 p.m. – 3 a.m. 

Located in the heart of New York-New York, Center Bar will feature a DJ 10 p.m. - 3 a.m. as well as a special cocktail menu including three Jose Cuervo-based drinks: the Striking Margarita, Punchout Paloma and Tap Out Tequila & Tonic. 

Beerhaus: Friday, Sept. 15 – 16; 5 – 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight 

Beerhaus will offer specialty cocktails and DJs.  

New York-New York Pool: Friday, Sept. 15 – 16; noon - 5 p.m. 

New York-New York Pool will host an all-day pool party featuring Mariachis 3 - 4 p.m.; swag, including sombreros; sunblock and towels; and a live DJ from noon to 5 p.m. 

Excalibur Hotel & Casino  

The Lounge: Friday, Sept. 15; 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. 

The Claudine Casto Band will perform at The Lounge at Excalibur where cocktails and beer specials will be offered 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. 

The Lounge: Friday, Sept. 16; 8 p.m. – 1 a.m.  

The Lounge at Excalibur will celebrate Mexican Independence Day with drink specials and live entertainment. Strolling mariachis will perform 8 - 10 p.m. beginning at The Lounge, then moving throughout the property before making their way back to the venue to end the night. Additionally, guests can enjoy Don Julio Tequila and Modelo drink specials and live music from XCSO Band 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. 

Excalibur Pool: Friday, Sept. 15-16; noon - 5 p.m. 

Excalibur Pool will host an all-day pool party featuring Mariachis 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.; swag, including sombreros; sunblock and towels; and a DJ noon - 5 p.m.
