MGM Resorts Foundation and Beau Rivage Resort & Casino Support Local Organizations With Charitable Grant Distributions Totaling More Than $173,000
Thirteen local non-profit agencies benefit from MGM’s employee-driven Community Grants Program
BILOXI, MISS. – More than $173,000 was distributed to 13 area non-profit agencies from the MGM Resorts Foundation, with funds supporting the grants stemming from contributions made by Beau Rivage and MGM Resorts International employees.
Grant decisions were made by the company’s employee-driven Community Grant Councils (CGC), a voluntary committee that distributes donations not ear-marked for specific nonprofit organizations or programs into a grant fund with awards based on a competitive proposal process. The grants provide support for projects that provide services in the following focus areas: Affordable Housing, Economic Opportunity/ Workforce Development, Education K-12, Family Services, Food Insecurity, Health and Wellness, Homelessness, Services for Seniors and Services for Veterans and Military Families. MGM Resorts Foundation is currently accepting nonprofit grant applications for 2019-20 through its online portal through Oct. 4, 2019. Funding will be awarded to local nonprofit agencies that provide services focused on fighting hunger, supporting families and improving the lives of all residents in our communities. Agencies may visit www.mgmresortsfoundation.org/grants to review eligibility criteria and begin the online grant application process. Nonprofits are required to provide support of a Community Grant Fund focus area and operations must be in existence for a minimum of 36 months to be considered.
