LAS VEGAS (November 26, 2019) – MGM Resorts Art & Culture proudly continues its partnership with Art Basel in Miami Beach for the 2019 edition (Dec. 5 – 8). Presented in dialogue with the Artist Studio at Bellagio Resort & Casino and the Nova sector for the first time, the MGM Resorts Art & Culture Lounge will feature Japanese-American artist and former 2019 Artist Studio Resident Parker Ito’s new paintings and an installation by Ito that explores the intricacies of Western landscapes as they become distorted and transformed through the realm of the digital.

“Our continued partnership with Art Basel has allowed us to showcase our dedication to art and culture from around the world,” said Executive Director of MGM Resorts Art & Culture Tarissa Tiberti. “Every year we can’t wait to bring to light the incredible experiences we offer within our MGM Resorts portfolio and this year is no different.”

MGM Resorts International also will host a party to kick off its programming on Thursday, Dec. 5 at Bar Bevy. The party will feature a partnership with FriendsWithYou, the fine art collaboration of Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III. Known for their immersive installations that often reference Takashi Murakami’s Superflat movement, FriendsWithYou will present a series of two-dimensional artworks and a limited-edition pin giveaway in collaboration with MGM Resorts Art & Culture. South African DJ and record producer Black Coffee will also be headlining entertainment throughout the party.

About Art Basel Partnership
MGM Resorts’ partnership with Art Basel began in December 2016 when MGM Resorts became the Public sector’s Partner in Art Basel in Miami Beach. Nova Providing a platform for galleries to present new work by up to three artists, Nova this year features 25 exhibitors and is supported by MGM Resorts Art & Culture. Highlights include: a series of new painting by Miami-based Haitian artist Tomm El-Saieh at Central Fine, work by Mira Dancy and Jesse Darling at Chapter NY, an immersive installation by Raúl de Nieves and Cajsa von Zeipel at Company Gallery, a new series of paintings by Didier William at James Fuentes, a solo presentation by Paris-based multidisciplinary artist Neïl Beloufa at Ghebaly Gallery, Mariane Ibrahim Gallery’s showcase of new and recent works by Amoako Boafo, and the debut of a new body of work by conceptual photographer Todd Gray at David Lewis.
