Throughout his career, Cantrell garnered eleven GRAMMY award nominations, logged multiple number one hits, sold more than 30 million records, and received the 2020 Museum of Pop Culture Founders Award as a member of Alice In Chains. Cantrell’s expansive sonic palette incorporates everything from moments of moody organ and powerful pedal steel to the cathartic choruses and airtight riffs which is the hallmark of his sound.

This July, Cantrell released his first single and video “Atone” from his highly anticipated album Brighten, debuting Oct. 29, 2021. Those songs comprise his influential catalog as co-founder, vocalist, lead guitarist and main songwriter of the iconic Alice In Chains and as a solo artist whose music resounds across culture. Cantrell co-produced Brighten with engineer Paul Fig, also taking the helm as co-producer along with film composer Tyler Bates. Reflecting a classic spirit, they welcomed a dynamic cast of supporting players, including drummers Gil Sharone and Abe Laboriel, Jr., pedal steel master Michael Rozon, Vincent Jones on piano, Wurlitzer, and organ. Other rock legends include Duff McKagan on select bass tracks, Greg Puciato handling all of the background vocals and Joe Barresi overseeing album mixing.
