Fallen Oak to host 31 of the Top 34 on current Schwab Cup Money List, Includes Six World Golf Hall of Famers and 19 PGA TOUR Champions Major winners

22 March 2019

BILOXI, Miss.  – The Rapiscan Systems Classic announced the final field list for next week’s tournament. With six World Golf Hall of Famers, 19 PGA TOUR Champions Major winners and 17 PGA TOUR Major championship winners overall, the 2019 Rapiscan Systems Classic will boast one of the strongest fields ever visiting the Mississippi Gulf Coast. MGM Resorts International’s Fallen Oak will host 31 of the Top 34 on the Charles Schwab Cup Money List from March 29-31.

Defending champion Steve Stricker will defend his title against some of the best players in the world, including former champions Fred Couples, Jeff Maggert, David Frost, Tom Lehman and Michael Allen.

Couples is joined in the field by fellow World Golf Hall of Fame members Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Larry Nelson, Mark O’Meara and Vijay Singh.

The 19 PGA TOUR Champions major winners account for 40 major wins on tour. In addition, five Masters Tournament champions are in the field.

Fan favorite John Daly leads the list of sponsor exemptions, along with Mark Brooks, Mike Goodes, P.H. Horgan III and Gary Nicklaus.

PGA TOUR Champions will be challenged by Fallen Oak’s ever-changing terrain featuring dramatic elevation changes incorporated among more than 4,000 oaks and other hardwood trees, ponds, streams and wetlands throughout the 510-acre, par-72 a Tom Fazio-designed masterpiece. Located at the edge of the DeSoto National Forest, Fallen Oak consistently ranks among the upper echelon of the nation’s top courses, checking in at No. 20 on the Top 200 Resorts Courses and No. 2 Best Casino Course, behind only its sister course Shadow Creek, in Golfweek’s 2019 Ultimate Guide.

All Good-Any-Day Grounds tickets for Thursday through Sunday of the tournament are free, courtesy of Coca-Cola. Additional hospitality and upgraded tickets options are available for purchase online. For more information or to secure your free tickets today, visit www.rapiscansystemsclassic.com.

The Rapiscan Systems Classic is a non-profit PGA TOUR Champions golf tournament in South Mississippi. It debuted nine years ago in 2010 at Fallen Oak in Saucier, north of Biloxi. Each year, the tournament draws large crowds and puts the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the national spotlight, thanks to live coverage from The Golf Channel. The purse for the three-day competition is $1.6 million, and 78 PGA TOUR Champions players will participate.
