Beau Rivage Returns as Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon's Official Host Hotel and Resort Casino

BILOXI, Miss. - Beau Rivage Resort & Casino invites Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon participants to stay, play and catch their breath at the property after crossing the finish line. As the official host hotel and resort casino of the 2021 marathon, Dec. 10-12, MGM Resorts International’s Beau Rivage offers luxurious accommodations, and a variety of runner-friendly offerings and specials for participants.

Now in its sixth year, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon draws more than 9,000 runners, volunteers and spectators to Coastal Mississippi each year, with last year’s crowd representing 47 states and six countries. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon features four distance races, including a marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles), 5K (3.1 miles) and kids marathon (1 mile). Beau Rivage is a proud sponsor and official resort and casino of the Beach to Bayou Challenge, a partnership between the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Louisiana Marathons that provides a third medal for runners that participate in both events.
For those looking for pre- or post-race relaxation, The Spa at Beau Rivage offers a custom massage as well as a special Marathon Runner Massage for the ultimate massage experience. The runner’s massage is tailored to meet specific needs from massage pressure to location and includes two enhancements such as Warm Himalayan Salt Stones and Fire and Ice to warm focus areas and provide cooling relief. Race participants showing their bib receive an insulated water bottle with any spa service, while supplies last.
Runner-friendly dining options are offered throughout race weekend at Beau Rivage’s award-winning restaurants. On race days, The Roasted Bean and Roasted Bean Coffee Cart will offer the Gulf Coast Marathon Power Pack, with fresh cut fruit, banana nut bread, Yoplait mixed berry yogurt and Powerarde. The coffee cart will be available on race weekend from 6 – 11 a.m. with items needed to fuel a run such as fresh cut fruit, bananas, yogurt & yogurt parfaits, pastries, Danishes, Powerade, water, Red Bull and more.

Races begin on Saturday morning, Dec. 11 with a 5K race, followed by the kids marathon, starting at 8 a.m. at Biloxi’s Point Cadet. The running festival culminates on Sunday, Dec. 12 with a USATF Boston Qualifier beachfront marathon that begins in historic Pass Christian and winds along Highway 90 Beach Blvd. to Biloxi, in a true celebration of running and Coastal Mississippi culture. Runners in both the marathon and half marathon, which starts at Gulfport’s Jones Park, will experience unobstructed beach views, quaint coastal towns and some of the region’s most beautiful homes before crossing the line at MGM Park’s Finish Festival, featuring music and local cuisine.

Founded in 2015, The Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon, a Coastal Running Fest, will be held December 10-12, 2021, to celebrate the local flare and beauty of running along the scenic beaches spanning Pass Christian to Biloxi. Races include a marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles), 5K (3.1 miles), and kids marathon race program (a 1 mile fun run). The weekend kicks off Friday, December 10, at 11 am until 7 pm, with packet pick up Runner Village at MGM Park.
