INDIANAPOLIS, IN (July 10, 2019) – The Las Vegas Aces have the best record in the WNBA following the team’s 74-71 victory over the Indiana Fever Wednesday afternoon. Coupled with losses by Washington (9-5) and Connecticut (9-6), the Aces 10-5 record has them a half-game ahead of the Mystics and a full game ahead of the Sun.



Indiana scored the first eight points of the game as the Aces missed their first seven shots from the field. Kayla McBride ended the run with a three-pointer, which started a 7-0 run for Las Vegas.

The Fever led 29-25 with 4:16 to go in the first half, but the Aces countered by scoring the next 11 points and took a 38-35 lead into the locker room at the break.

Las Vegas extended its lead to as many as eight in the third quarter and was still up three, 53-50, with 3:13 to go in the period. Indiana scored 10 of the next 11 points to go up by seven, 61-54.

The Aces scored the final two points of the third quarter and 10 of the first 12 points in the fourth. The Fever would tie the game twice down the stretch, but never regain the lead.



Both teams committed 11 turnovers, but the Aces scored 15 points off Indiana’s miscues, while the Fever managed just three points off the Aces’.



Liz Cambage scored in double figures for the 46th straight game, which is the longest active streak in the league (19 points).

A’ja Wilson scored in double figures for the 47th time in 48 games as a professional (12 points).

Kayla McBride scored in double figures for the 13th time this season (14 points).

Kelsey Plum scored in double figures for the seventh time this season (14 points).

Las Vegas has won eight straight games against the Fever.

The Fever committed eight turnovers in the first quarter after committing seven in the entire game (including overtime) the last time they played the Aces on July 10.  They committed just three for the remainder of the game Wednesday.

The Aces are 5-0 when making more three-pointers than their opponent this season.



The Aces travel to Washington, D.C. for a 4 pm PT tip Saturday, July 13 against the Mystics.
