Arrival

MGM Grand Detroit features a private valet and entrance for its hotel guests, an intentional design that offers separation from the casino, which also includes valet and self-park options.

Lobby

The lobby envelops patrons in a modern yet tranquil atmosphere with grandiose 20-foot ceilings. Nearby, a private “Living Room” is a place for hotel guests to relax, wait for friends and business associates, or make reservations via the dedicated concierge. The room includes a wall-length fireplace and a dramatic backlit wall adornment with a cascading fountain. Comfortable seating and contemporary artwork from Michigan artist Herb Babcock complete the décor. 

MGM Grand Detroit’s Signature Restaurants

At MGM Grand Detroit, guests can indulge at two signature restaurants, D.PRIME Steakhouse and Lounge and MGM Grand Detroit’s own sports bar TAP. Locally focused Roasted Bean Detroit, Detroit Central Market, a new urban food hall, and Breeze, a quick-serve dining court to satisfy every craving imaginable including local favorites Detroit Wing Company and National Coney Island©, complement these venues.

D.PRIME Steakhouse - The sun is down. The night is yours. Come enjoy an original take on a modern steakhouse and lounge designed with a downtown vibe. Savor globally inspired twists on flame-grilled steaks and seafood. Sip on signature cocktails while listening to fresh sounds within a contemporary, upscale experience crafted for Detroit. Welcome to D.PRIME.

TAP at MGM Grand Detroit - TAP is the spot to dine on elevated pub food including burgers, Detroit-style pizza and savory wings while enjoying sports games. With more than 40 HD flat-screen televisions and 50 draft and bottled beers, TAP is a haven for sports and craft brew lovers, as the name suggests. In addition to a large dining area, TAP also features a large private dining room perfect for groups.

Casual Dining

The Roasted Bean Detroit - Located at the Casino entrance. The Roasted Bean Detroit is a café featuring locally roasted coffee, ice cream, light meals and fresh baked pastries from the MGM Grand Detroit pastry team led by renowned pastry chef and former Top Chef: Just Desserts contestant Orlando Santos and products from local companies including Better Made and Guernsey Dairy. The local influence goes beyond the uniquely Detroit offerings; the space was designed by Detroit-based Sachse Construction to highlight the importance of the city as inspiration in the venue.

Detroit Central Market - A new urban food hall offering a fresh approach to fast-casual dining. Featuring locally and globally inspired culinary favorites—from hot fried chicken sandwiches and authentic Mexican street tacos, to tempting Asian noodles and delicious Detroit-style pizza. All served with an extra helping of modern convenience. Simply scan the QR code on your table with a mobile device to view menus, make your selections and pay. Then sit back and relax as your freshly prepared food is delivered right to your table. Options include:

  • Fat Daddy’s Hot Chicken - Featuring signature hot fried chicken sandwiches, tenders and entrées.
  • Diablo’s Tacos - Variety of authentic Mexican street tacos, quesadillas, rice, beans andfreshly made guacamole
  • Grand Wok Noodle Bar - Filled with oodles of classic Asian noodles, such as Wonton Noodle Soup, Beef Chow Fun, and Singapore Curry Rice Noodles.
  • The Corners Detroit-Style Pizza - Array of signature pizzas, soups and salads, The Corners is where you’ll find wholesale Italian cooking with homemade Detroit flair.

Breeze Dining Court - For a fast bite, guests can “Breeze” into MGM Grand Detroit’s quick-service area and enjoy five diverse casual-dining restaurants:

  • National Coney Island® - Enjoy Detroit classic favorites like the Coney Dog or the Hani ™ at the only National Coney Island in Downtown Detroit.
  • Red Sauce - Your personalized pizza pie starts here! Red Sauce serves fast, delicious pizza with your choice of toppings. We also have hot Italian soups including minestrone and Toscana and Caesar salads.
  • Bamboo - Menu offerings include stir-fried favorites that sizzle straight from the wok.
  • Detroit Wing Company - Serving your favorite all-natural wings, boneless wings and chicken tenders as well as an array of homemade sides including mac & cheese and cornbread. Choose from 10 of Detroit Wing Company’s famous sauces, ranging from Honey BBQ and Buffalo to Creole Parmesan and Habanero Ranch.

Nightlife and Entertainment

MGM Grand Detroit goes beyond the threshold of excitement and delivers great entertainment options.

AXIS Lounge - AXIS is a beautiful lounge with a colorful space full of energy and in the center of the Casino floor. This open concept lounge is the perfect place to unwind for a cocktail or to enjoy some live music. Local bands take the stage on weekends as they perform playing the classic hits of Motown, Jazz and Modern Pop.

Topgolf® Swing Suite – Experience the thrill of playing Topgolf right inside of MGM Grand Detroit. Featuring four virtual simulators and comfortable lounge seating, the Topgolf Swing Suite complements the city’s first and only downtown hotel, gaming and entertainment destination built from the ground up. The Topgolf game is designed for both golfers and non-golfers alike and can be played by up to eight people at one time per bay.  There are a wide variety of courses like Pebble Beach and games such as Zombie Dodgeball and Quarter Back Challenge. Guests can also experience a range of shareable plates and crafted cocktails.

32 Degrees - For a taste of summer all year round, enjoy the coolest frozen daiquiris and margaritas or grab a frosty craft brew. With sports on TV and video poker, patrons can chill all day.

Gaming

MGM Grand Detroit offers upscale gaming designed to raise the experience in Detroit, including the latest table games, slots and a premier poker room. Guests can enjoy classic favorites or touch up on multi-line video slots, ranging from 1 cent to $100. With more than 2,800 slot and video poker machines, you are sure to have a good time.

In addition to this, there are more than 150 table games that make it is easy to shuffle up at MGM Grand Detroit. Guests can dive into one of more than 16 types of table games ranging from Texas Hold’em and High Tie Blackjack to classic favorites like Pai Gow and Roulette. The poker room features eight tables in a lavish setting with large screen TVs playing local and national sporting events.

MGM Grand Detroit is continuously improving the gaming experience with newest slots and tables, and expanding non-smoking gaming options. Currently, there are three dedicated areas to play to slots smoke free – Clear 1 and Clear 2 located on the gaming floor, and the newly added Crystal Clear, to enjoy not only slots but table games as well.

IMMERSE spa

IMMERSE spa, a 20,000-square-foot, modern-day urban loft inside MGM Grand Detroit, was designed with nature’s most calming elements in mind. This award-winning spa is the first U.S.-based spa for from internationally acclaimed design firm Tonychi and Associates.

The lavish, two-level facility includes a full-service spa; seven treatment bungalows (including a couples’ suites) set amidst a tranquil rock garden; indoor infinity edge pool; state-of-the-art exercise facility; relaxation lounges; separate vanity areas for men and women featuring a whirlpool, sauna  and steam room; and a spa boutique. 

In addition to premier spa services such as Body Detox; an 80 minute body treatment that allows guests to escape into relaxation while their skin is made decadently smooth with massages inspired by Thai technique and Boost; a 110 minute full body indulgence of scrubs, wraps and massages allowing for the perfect balance of hydration and relaxation. IMMERSE also boasts wonderful poolside dining.

Guest Rooms and Suites

MGM Grand Detroit features 400 chic and stylish guest rooms, including 9 VIP suites and 56 opulent corner suites on the highest floors of the entertainment destination, delivering panoramic views of the Detroit skyline. Rooms feature contemporary interior design by acclaimed hospitality firm Laurence Lee and Associates and some of the most technologically advanced amenities in the country.

Starting at 510 square feet, standard luxury guestrooms emanate a warm ambiance with chocolate, dark cranberry and lime accents. Each room features exotic Wenge furniture and zebra wood headboards. The oversized guestroom bathrooms, which make up nearly a quarter of total room size, boast spacious walk-in showers with double showerheads, Palisandro marble countertops, double vanity sinks, separate water closet and lighted make-up mirrors. Delivering a sensual and voyeuristic architectural element, the guestroom showers feature a “peek-a-boo” panel of opaque tangerine glass, offering a glimpse of a showering silhouette from the bedroom. 

Corner Suites deliver 1,000 square feet of sophisticated luxury featuring a marble foyer, living room sitting area with wet bar and floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows for stunning 90-degree cityscape views. The Executive Corner Suites provide the convenience of a seating area, separate from the bedroom, making it ideal for informal in-room meetings, while the Luxury Corner Suites feature an open-air residential design, with an elliptical zebrawood headboard dividing the seating area from the bedroom. On the top floor of the resort, the spectacular VIP Penthouse Suites provide up to 2,220 square feet with one or two bedrooms, marble floors, and entertainment rooms with 50-inch plasma TVs, separate living rooms, formal dining rooms and a private kitchen where hotel chefs can prepare meals for guests.  Additionally, all suites offer deep-soaking whirlpool tubs and double rain head showerheads with triple body jets.

All rooms and suites feature deluxe beds with double-sided Serta pillow-top mattresses fitted with high-thread-count bed linens and topped with fluffy pillows and luxurious comforters in custom duvets. Plush bath linens feature wraparound body towels and terrycloth spa-style bathrobes.

Advanced technological features underscore the modern but comfortable feel of the rooms and suites. When entering the room, the action of unlocking the door automatically adjusts the interior lighting to a soft, warm glow; settings can be adjusted to five levels of brightness. Telephones serve as a “Butler” with color touch-screen technology that enables guests to access property information, schedule wake-up calls, order room service and connect to the Internet without picking up the phone.

Additionally, an electronic button beside the door allows guests to send communications directly to housekeeping with a “Do Not Disturb” message or a housekeeping service request. Motion sensors combined with the use of electronic key locks notify housekeeping personnel when rooms are occupied to minimize guest disturbances. All rooms are appointed with a 50-inch wall-mounted LED television and charging station.  Both wired and wireless Internet are standard in every room and business travelers utilizing laptops will appreciate power outlets stationed at tabletop height for optimum convenience. 

Meeting and Events Center

MGM Grand Detroit presents 30,000 square feet of flexible business and reception space comprised of a 14,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, three 1,600-square-foot meeting rooms and two 710-square-foot executive boardrooms.

The Meeting and Events Center is located on MGM Grand Detroit’s third floor, making events easily accessible but strategically distinguished from other hotel activities.  For virtually effortless planning, MGM Grand Detroit offers a professional staff to assist meeting planners with all aspects of their catering needs from quaint cocktail receptions to elaborate banquets for large groups. The Center includes a full-service kitchen to meet any catering need, however simple or complex.  

The expansive Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 1,200 people to create the perfect entertainment venue for any large-scale event. The Grand Ballroom can be divided into four ballroom salons for intimate gatherings of up to 300. MGM Grand Detroit’s Amber, Garnet and Sapphire meeting rooms can comfortably host groups of 86, and may be divided in half for smaller functions.  Two executive boardrooms, Onyx and Quartz, each accommodate up to 18 people. Both boardrooms feature state-of-the-art teleconferencing services, built-in HD TVs and wired/wireless high-speed Internet access.
