Food & Beverage News – November 2018



Several MGM Resorts food and beverage venues such as Le Cirque at Bellagio, BARDOT Brasserie at ARIA and Pyramid Café at Luxor will offer special Thanksgiving menus on Thursday, Nov. 22. From fine-dining to fast-casual, the restaurants will serve their take on the holiday classics.

Hakkasan Restaurant Military Offer
Hakkasan Group is celebrating National Veterans and Military Families Month with two exclusive offers at its acclaimed nightlife venue and restaurant. For the month of November, retired and active military members can enjoy complimentary entry, plus one guest, at the world-renowned nightclub. Additionally, servicemen and servicewomen will receive 20 percent off their dining experience at Hakkasan Restaurant.

Cravings Buffet Veteran’s Discount 

Cravings Buffet is giving back to our American heroes by offering a 40% military discount for up to four guests with a valid military ID. This offer is available for breakfast, brunch and dinner daily.

A specialty Veteran’s Day cocktail, the Freedom Jack, will be available for the holiday weekend at all regional and Las Vegas MGM Resorts bars and lounges. Discounted pricing will be offered to active and retired military with valid ID. The exclusive beverage is made of Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, Chambord, ginger beer, mint and lime.

CATCH Las Vegas Opening

CATCH Las Vegas is now open at ARIA and is located just off the main resort lobby. Known for attracting A-listers from around the world, the restaurant’s debut on The Strip brings epic renditions of opulent seafood, sushi and steak. The dining experience offers an elevated, interactive atmosphere from early evening to prime-time dinner, late night and special events.

Snack Wagon Pop-Up Series at Harvest by Roy Ellamar

Each month during this exciting pop-up culinary series, a guest chef takes over one of Harvest by Roy Ellamar’s signature snack wagons, offering their own specialty small bites as they travel table-to-table to chat with diners. The interactive series gives culinary aficionados the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes and mingle with their favorite chefs.

The Pub at The Shops at Crystals Announces Fall Activations
The Pub at The Shops at Crystals has brought live music, Beer Brunch and Brewery Wednesdays to the heart of The Strip this fall. Guests are invited to sip one of the countless beers offered at The Pub while listening to live music or playing fun bar games. Available now, The Pub offers an extensive selection of draft beers, from local brews to European classics, during Beer Brunch and Brewery Wednesdays.

Locals and visitors alike are invited to join the following festivities:

  • Live Music: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
    • Sit back, relax and enjoy delicious food and drinks to sounds by local musicians. Guests can try their hand at classic bar games such as Jenga, bar dice, dominoes and foosball or satisfy cravings with a menu inspired by traditional English pub fare. No cover charge.
  • Beer Brunch: Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Guests can enjoy the Beer Brunch at The Pub every Saturday and Sunday. Featuring themed six-packs of beer ($40) and The Pub’s array of domestic and international brews, Beer Brunch is the ideal culinary experience for beer connoisseurs and brunch enthusiasts alike. A full menu of brunch classics is readily available for weekend warriors, as well as The Mug, comprised of Tito’s vodka, The Pub’s signature bloody mary mix, celery, a miniature grilled cheese and rueben, a mac-n-cheese bite, bacon and a shishito pepper ($36).
  • Brewery Wednesdays: Wednesdays from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
    • Each week, The Pub invites a different brewery to take over the venue on Brewery Wednesdays. Diners can sample new beers, learn more about their favorite brews and win some swag during the interactive event.

ARIA Wine Dinners
ARIA Resort & Casino will host two exclusive wine dinners:

Antinori Wine Dinner
Hosted at Carbone by ARIA Director of Wine William Moss and 26th-generation owner Alessia Antinori, the Antinori Wine Dinner will highlight the iconic wines of Marchesi Antinori and will present a four-course tasting menu of the restaurant’s specialty dishes.

Hundred Acre Ultimate Tasting and Dining Experience
The Hundred Acre Wine Dinner experience is a culinary event that will offer a vintage tasting from Hundred Acre Owner and Winemaker Jayson Woodbridge paired with a five-course tasting menu of delectable cuisine from James Beard Award-winning Chef Shawn McClain.

Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak Jack Daniel’s Sensory Dinner
Craftsteak will host a special evening where guests can explore the way their senses enhance their dining experience. In partnership with Jack Daniel’s, the dinner includes a three-course tasting menu paired with cocktails and attendees will take home a custom engraved bottle of a rare batch of Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof whiskey.

Vinyl Thursdays at Primrose
Park MGM presents Vinyl Thursdays, an interactive music experience that takes place in the Drawing Room at Primrose 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every other Thursday. Guests are invited to bring their own vinyl records to be played throughout the evening by DJ Eddie Mac or play board games for a little friendly competition. Attendees can enjoy exclusive bar bites such as Garden Fries, Fried Chicken Provencal and Beef Tartare Crostini, or signature cocktails like the Phat Manhattan with butter-washed Woodford Reserve, Dolin Rouge and Angostura bitters. Records also will be available for guests to choose from, provided by local record store Zia Records.

NoMad Las Vegas
The NoMad Bar is now open. The venue serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night; perfect for a cocktail and a snack or a more substantial meal. An eclectic menu of shareable plates, snacks, sandwiches, pastas and more is available throughout the day with live jazz most evenings. Hours of operation are:

Cravings Buffet Experiences

Heritage Sunday Roast at Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak
Every Sunday, guests can savor the flavors of an ever-changing, communal menu of custom creations designed by Executive Chef Matthew Chacho. Enjoy a tableside presentation of select roasted meats as the highlight of the special tasting menu, which changes monthly. To complement each course, the restaurant offers expertly curated wine pairings and deliciously crafted sides.

Spago’s New Fall Lunch Menu
Wolfgang Puck’s flagship restaurant, Spago Las Vegas, celebrates the season with a new menu featuring a bountiful selection of harvest-forward starters, shared plates and sweets. Conceptualized by Executive Chef Mark Andelbradt, the new menu items feature comfort foods with warm, earthy components such as butternut squash, apples, mushrooms and pears. Menu highlights include the Mezze Plate – Chickpea hummus, charred eggplant, cucumber yogurt, market pickles and pita, Porcini Mushroom Agnolotti – Housemade agnolotti with thyme, Parmigiano-Reggiano and The Golden Puck – Chocolate mousse, Jack Daniel’s praline, candied peanuts

Aureole Patio Opening

Aureole, a Charlie Palmer restaurant, has opened its stunning patio that made its mark ten years ago. The scenery of the patio transforms the dining experience from the busy Las Vegas Strip to a desert oasis. Beautifully lit and remarkably romantic, it is the perfect date night location and one of the most elegant places on the strip to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or special event.

Orchid Lounge
Effective Oct. 22, Orchid Lounge at Mandalay Bay has closed to undergo a transformation into Hazel Coffee | Cocktail, opening in early 2019. Additional details about the concept will be shared in the coming months.


Double Barrell Roadhouse

Double Barrell Roadhouse will close on Sunday, Nov. 4. For additional dining options, guests are encouraged to visit nearby destinations at Park MGM or The Park such as Beerhaus, Primrose or Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar.


RHUMBAR Experiencing Exciting Changes
RHUMBAR at The Mirage will soon welcome new culinary offerings, a refreshed bar program and fun programming to the venue this December. The revamped space will feature a selection of tiki drinks, an exclusive rum and cigar menu, small plates and appetizers to share, indoor/outdoor sports viewing on big screen TVs and more. Additional details will be available in the coming weeks.

Paradise Café Seasonal Closure
Paradise Café’s final day of service for the season is Sunday, Nov. 4. For additional dining options, guests are encouraged to visit nearby destinations at The Mirage such as Pantry, Cravings Buffet or LVB Burgers & Bar.
