MGM Resorts Foundation Announces Custom-designed Format for 2014 Women's Leadership Conference

Emerging Leaders Track, Emerging Executives Track, and Executives Track will provide learning opportunities to all women professionals
 

Las Vegas, May 19, 2014 – The MGM Resorts Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Conference will provide attendees with a range of educational and networking opportunities designed to help them advance in their careers.
 
The conference will be held Aug. 6 & 7 at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. For the second year in a row, custom-designed learning tracks will give attendees tools that fit their individual professional needs. Tracks available will include:
 
 

  • The Emerging Leader Track: Designed for entry to mid-level supervisors, managers, and administrators, this track will inspire attendees to learn new skills that will take their careers to the next level. The track will focus on a variety of topics including: strategies for leveraging social media, how to lead movements that hold meaning while making money, and tips to landing your dream job.
     
  • The Emerging Executive Track: Designed for Directors and Executive Directors, this track will provide tips on managing relationships with higher level leaders as well as strategies to competing for an executive level position. Topics will include: deciphering communication styles, how to avoid career self-sabotage, and tactics for improving personal connectivity.
     
  • The Executive Track: Designed for Vice Presidents and above, this track will sharpen attendees’ leadership skills for the purpose of continuous career progression. Topics will cover identifying S.W.O.T.s (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) and smart goals to achieve personal career objectives, as well as the power of scheduling thinking and non-thinking time. Additionally, attendees will learn more about the art of persuasion and how they can avoid mistakes commonly made in leadership.
 
The eighth annual Women’s Leadership Conference is open to women of all professions and social backgrounds, locally and nationally, and men who support women. In addition to the workshops, the conference will feature dynamic keynote speakers, entertainment, and networking opportunities. Conference registration is available at $350 per person.
 
The non-profit MGM Resorts Foundation is the conference’s presenting sponsor and will partner with the nationally renowned Women’s Food Service Forum (WFF), the industry’s premiere leadership development organization. Proceeds of the conference after costs will be donated to one or more local nonprofit agencies devoted to the welfare and development of women and girls.
