MGM Resorts Opens Downtown Springfield Office

Will Host Supplier Workshops at Western MA Business Expo

SPRINGFIELD (MA) Oct. 9, 2012 – MGM Resorts International today announced the opening of its Downtown Springfield office at 1441 Main St., Suite 137, Springfield, MA 01103. The MGM Springfield Community Office team celebrated the opening during a reception with local business and community leaders. 
Bill Hornbuckle, MGM’s Chief Marketing Officer and President of MGM Springfield, along with several MGM colleagues, are in Springfield this week for the opening of the community office and to participate in the Western Massachusetts Business Expo. The reception was highlighted by a tour of the new office space, a short presentation by Hornbuckle, and the opportunity for guests to meet with MGM representatives to learn more about MGM Springfield’s proposal.  
"The opening of our community office in Springfield is an important and exciting milestone for MGM Springfield,” said Hornbuckle. “MGM Springfield is about helping to create a better future for an entire city and to do that we want our neighbors to have convenient access to our team so they may get all of the information they want about our proposal.”
The MGM Springfield Community Office was opened so neighbors, residents and the local business community may easily come and go while visiting downtown. The community is invited to stop in and learn more about the company and the proposed development in Springfield and get answers to any questions as well as offer any thoughts and suggestions they may have regarding MGM’s proposal and the economic benefits it would bring to Springfield.

The MGM Springfield Community Office will be open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The convenient storefront location will allow visitors to stop in throughout the day. Visitor parking is available in the 1441 Main St. parking lot located on Harrison Avenue, directly behind the building. 
Also this week, MGM will host three Supplier Workshops on Thursday at the Western Massachusetts Business Expo at the MassMutual Center to help local business owners better understand MGM’s commitment to partnering with small, local businesses to help grow the communities in which they operate. Registration is required to attend these workshops.

Since unveiling plans to develop an $800 million world-class dining, retail and entertainment district on about 10 acres of land in Downtown Springfield MGM has continued to demonstrate its strong commitment to Springfield by actively getting to know its neighbors.
As a demonstration of that commitment, MGM has taken an active role in the community. Just last week, MGM announced its sponsorship of the Springfield Falcons for the 2012-2013 American Hockey League season. Last month, MGM announced that it would include a plan to integrate a revitalized Union Station into its proposal. MGM also donated $50,000 to the South End Community Center (SECC) to help support SECC’s After-School Program.
