From the moment Keith’s debut single “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” powered up the charts to become his first No. 1 song, he has proven to be one of the most consistent hit makers of his era. He writes, arranges, produces and releases all of his music on his record label Show Dog Nashville with his album sales topping more than 40 million copies. At the core of Keith’s unparalleled success is his songwriting, which has produced an astounding succession of hit songs to the tune of more than 87 million BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) performances on commercial radio stations worldwide.
In June 2015, Keith was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in New York City. He also has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International with its Songwriter/Artist of the Decade distinction and is a three-time BMI Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year. He was recently named the Artist of the Decade by both Billboard and the American Country Awards and also was recognized by the Academy of Country Music, receiving its Career Achievement award.
In addition to writing music and touring, Keith frequently gives back to the community thru the Toby Keith Foundation and OK Kids Korral, a cost-free home for families of children dealing with critical illnesses. Recently, his Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic raised another $1.175 million to aid sick children and their families in Oklahoma. Keith also has participated in 11 USO Tours to date and was presented the Spirit of the USO Award in 2014.
