Historic chocolatier will provide between 250,000-300,000 pieces of chocolate per year
DETROIT– August 1, 2014 - MGM Grand Detroit, the only Forbes Four-Star hotel in the city of Detroit, has teamed with Sanders Fine Chocolates to present guests with gourmet chocolates during nightly turndown service in its 400 hotel rooms.  MGM Grand Detroit is the first and only hotel to present the historic, Michigan-based company’s chocolates for this service.
“Sanders is such a familiar brand to people across Michigan, we are excited to share the treats with all our guests,” said Steve Zanella, President and COO, MGM Grand Detroit.  “We are always on the lookout for products and services to enhance the MGM Grand Detroit experience and offering Sanders products is just another way to do this.”
Four varieties of Sanders chocolates will be used for the turndown service: Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel, Cookies and Cream Cruncher and Dark Chocolate Mint.  Turndown service includes the chocolates, placed pillow-side on a tray accompanied by an IMMERSE Spa menu, bottled water, TV remote, and “Sleep Well” Card.  Guests can request a specific chocolate for their stay; otherwise MGM Grand Detroit housekeeping staff will randomly select chocolate(s) for the room.
Zanella added, “providing Sanders continues to show our commitment to the local economy, our commitment to buying Michigan-based products, and our commitment to the communities in which we work and live.”
