Las Vegas for Theme Park Lovers

It’s no secret Brazilians love their thrills: studies show they’re more apt to visit U.S. states with theme parks in them. Over the past few years, the Las Vegas Strip has come into its own as an amusement park mecca in the desert with the world’s longest virtual reality roller coaster.

Take a look at all the rides and activities a Las Vegas vacation has to offer:

  • Take a Ride on Virtual Reality’s Wild Side – The Strip recently introduced the world’s longest virtual reality roller coaster. Adventure seekers can experience the new 4D component to New York-New York’s Big Apple Coaster, which takes riders on an out-of-this-world mission above The Strip’s skyline. The journey begins with virtual reality headsets, allowing riders to take on the role of scientists to catch an alien that’s escaped from the research facility.

  • Not for the Faint of Heart – Circus Circus boasts El Loco, which will excite even the greatest amusement park enthusiasts by ascending 27 meters before dropping over and under to experience 1.5 Gs of vertical force. Guests also can take a spin on the 88-kilometer-per-hour Canyon Blaster, the only indoor, double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster.

  • Bring Home a Souvenir Unlike Any Other – Your readers won’t be able to find this experience at just any park. The Mirage’s Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat offers visitors a one-of-a-kind story to take back home: not only can visitors encounter big cats such as rare white lions, white tigers and leopards, but they can become a trainer at the Dolphin Habitat, which has achieved humane certification for animal welfare by American Humane. The Trainer for a Day program invites guests to work closely with dolphin care specialists to learn about the health, behavior and proper caretaking of the resident family of dolphins. Visitors can also witness the artistic talents of the mammals and take home some unique art: the bottlenose dolphins use their snouts and a specialized buoy brush to paint directly on a canvas.

  • Dive on the Wild Side – Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef Aquarium is a scenic walkthrough, featuring a standout centerpiece with 15 species of sharks swimming around, above and below a Shipwreck exhibit. But that’s not all: scuba-certified guests staying at Mandalay Bay or Delano, or those who own an Annual Pass, can dive in the nearly 5-million-litre tank for a daring 45 minutes. Though divers may only get to encounter one or two sharks in the ocean, they are guaranteed to see dozens of species during their dive at Shark Reef.
