On the Record opening New Year’s Eve weekend

LAS VEGAS (August 21, 2018) – Renowned for creating unique and fun multilayered guest experiences at their popular Los Angeles nightspots, Houston Hospitality’s Jonnie and Mark Houston are poised to deliver again in spades at their first Las Vegas venture, On The Record at Park MGM. The trendsetting design-obsessed twin brothers have revealed new details for the speakeasy and club opening over New Year’s Eve weekend.

Accessed via On The Record’s main room, The Record Parlor will be an intimate hideaway and an experience all its own. With a small bar and three banquette seating areas, the Record Parlor will accommodate 20-25 guests. The warm and inviting enclave will pay homage to the Houstons’ love of music nostalgia and vinyl, with iconic album covers displayed in wooden wall cases.

“The Parlor will be a speakeasy within the speakeasy,” said the Houstons. “Our aim is to create different experiences and vibes throughout On The Record where guests can escape, unwind, have fun, and enjoy really great cocktails.”

Houston Hospitality’s award-winning artisanal cocktail program ups its game with a fun twist within the Record Parlor. An ever-changing bar menu will feature recommended pairings of cocktails and album songs. Request a song and the bartender will mix a cocktail which reflects that song. (Think Psychedelic Furs’ “Pretty in Pink” and a refreshing pink cotton candy infused cocktail.) Or name your favorite spirit and record and let the bartender riff to concoct a unique cocktail to please your personal palate.

Some of the best mixologists in the world will regularly rotate in and out of the Record Parlor bar as “star-tenders” to create their own song-inspired cocktails.

Like their Los Angeles hotspots Break Room 86, Black Rabbit Rose, Bronson Bar, No Vacancy, Good Times at Davey Wayne’s, and La Descarga, among others, the 11,000-square-foot On The Record will conjure a feeling of nostalgia inspired by different musical eras while reflecting the Houstons’ signature modern speakeasy atmosphere. Across the casino floor from the resort’s active Park Theater, the three-room venue will feature a functioning record store entry, indoor and outdoor spaces, a double-decker bus DJ booth outside, a world-class cocktail program, and an immersive and entertaining hidden club experience driven by the Houstons’ award-winning interior design.
