Beau Rivage’s Cruisin’ The Coast Lineup to Feature Beach Boys, Official Cruisin’ Sock Hop Pool Party, Food & Drink Specials and Designated Parking for Cruisers

21 September 2018

BILOXI, Miss. — Dubbed “America’s Largest Block Party,” Cruisin’ The Coast returns to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for its 22nd year, celebrating antique, classic and hot rod vehicles and nostalgic music. This year’s event is shaping up to be one of the largest ever with 7,165 cars pre-registered from 44 states, Canada, Australia and Germany, and thousands more expected for the weeklong block party Sept. 30 - Oct. 7. Cruisers need not look any further than Beau Rivage Resort & Casino for a fabulous week of classic fun.

Now in its 22nd year, Cruisin’ the Coast is the largest special event in the state of Mississippi and one of the top tourism draws to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This year Cruisin’ the Coast was voted the Best Car Show Competition in the U.S. by the readers of USA TODAY.

“Cruisin’ the Coast is a week that we highlight on our calendars every year,” said Beau Rivage Vice President of Marketing Brandon Dardeau. “We enjoy hosting the cruisers and adding to the attractiveness of the event for them, which is why we have been involved as a major sponsor for the last 19 years. When people think of cruising, they think of oldies and classic rock, and Beau Rivage is pleased to host the official Cruisin’ the Coast concert event on Wednesday with the Dominos by the pool, and the 60s icons The Beach Boys for two shows in the Beau Rivage Theatre on Friday and Saturday.”

Beau Rivage will start the week by offering cruisers and members of the public a chance to win a share of $50,000 in cash and TablePlay in the Back to the Classics Blackjack Tournament.  Entry fee is $100 and first place takes home $20,000, half in cash, half in TablePlay. Tournament registration will take place on Sunday, Sept. 30 from 7 – 9 p.m.  Those who register on Sept. 30 will receive an additional $1,000 in tournament chips toward Round One.  Late registration is available on Oct. 1 starting at 12 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, cruisers are invited to the Cruisin’ the Coast Sock Hop Pool Party where they’ll be taken back to the “blue-eyed soul” of the 60s, with a few stops in the 50s, 70s and more along the way, when the Dominos play on the Beau Rivage pool deck. With a full horn section and talented background singers, the Dominos faithfully recreate the studio quality of cover and original songs. Doors will open at 6 p.m., from 6 – 8 p.m., Courtney Hansen, TV executive producer and personality, syndicated columnist and former host of PowerNation and Overhaulin’, as well as Cristy Lee, host of Barrett-Jackson LIVE and All Girls Garage on Discovery Channel’s Velocity Network, will be on hand for a meet and greet, autograph signing and photo opportunity. Tickets cost $5 in advance and $10 at the door.  Cocktails and refreshments will be available for purchase.

There will be no shortage of live music through the week, the stage at EIGHT75 will feature a variety of performances starting with Beau Rivage’s own Dian Diaz from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. Sept. 29, pop and rock band Triggerproof on Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 2, and oldies and Motown band Unfazed Oct. 3-6. On Friday and Saturday nights, guests can also take in performances by Anderson Domingues at the Breeze Bar from 8 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Patrons can enjoy their musical stylings while imbibing a craft cocktail from a menu developed especially for Cruisin’ the Coast.  The classic libations only cost $6 each and include the following: The Galaxie (Smirnoff Vodka, Elderflower Liqueur, Fresh Sour and Club Soda), The Sunset Strip (Don Julio Blanco Tequila, Grapefruit Juice and Club Soda), Beach Blvd. Riviera (Gordon’s Gin, Blackberry Monin Syrup, Rock Candy Syrup, Fresh Sour and Club Soda), Pink Thunderbird (Parrot Bay Mango Rum, Ginger Beer and Splash of Pineapple Juice) and Rockett 88 (Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey, Peach Schnapp’s, Lemonade and Splash of Sprite).

New in 2018, Field of Wheels Invitational Car Show will feature some of the finest vehicles of all time on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at MGM Park.
