Happy hour is about to get hot. While spicy cocktails have been a staple at bars and restaurants in Las Vegas, they are building momentum to take the spotlight this summer with an explosion of popular drinks utilizing fiery ingredients such as cayenne pepper, wasabi and chili pepper. The big question: Do you want that shaken, stirred...or scorching?
Mexican travelers have come to expect memorable libations to leave their taste buds tingling. Guests now can enjoy the heat they crave in a city with a reputation for over-the-top experiences. I'd love to work with you on a story showcasing sizzling, spicy cocktails at restaurants and bars across Las Vegas.


  • LAGO – Feast on Italian tapas while gazing at the iconic Fountains of Bellagio at Lago by Julian Serrano, which showcases a savory cayenne cocktail. Located at Bellagio, the restaurant’s eponymous cocktail features Absolute Elyx, an Italian Amaro, smooth Montenegro agave, lime juice and cayenne pepper to turn up the heat and tease the tongue.
  • Death in the Florida Straits – At BARDOT Brasserie at ARIA Resort & Casino, guests can explore their fiery French side with the daringly hot, chili-infused Death in the Florida Straits cocktail. This particular libation drives a wild mixture of flavors including Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Cointreau and a dash of chili paired with lime and sparkling wine that balances the heat with a cooling finish.
  • Shake It Off – Challenge your senses with the Shake it Off cocktail served at Skyfall Lounge at Delano Las Vegas. Jalapeño-infused tequila provides just enough kick to make each sip interesting, but not overpowering. Shake it Off’s Espolon Blanco tequila has been aged with jalapeños and thoughtfully paired with fresh strawberries, tangy lemon juice and Dolin dry vermouth, giving the drink a fruity flavor.
  • Morimoto 5-Year Aged Sakes – At MGM Grand’s Morimoto Las Vegas, sake enthusiasts can enjoy traditional Japanese rice wine, reinvented with the introduction of a subtle spice created by sweet chili peppers. The newly opened restaurant offers a five-year aged, spiced sake, which presents a toasty, honey-graham taste, followed by a warm chili pepper finale. It is part of “Iron Chef America” Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s own sake line rooted in authentic Japanese culture.
  • Agua de Serrano Julian Serrano Tapas at ARIA gives heat seekers the chance to try the fruit-filled Agua de Serrano, which offers a rush of habanero heat in a surprisingly refreshing fashion. The perfect partner for small, spicy plates marries sweet and spice with Patrón Citrónge, Pyrat XO rum, Spanish cava, oranges and a zesty habanero-agave syrup.
