As one of Las Vegas’ premier club attractions, Dian Diaz dazzled audiences for years at Bellagio’s Fontana Room. She earned a “Best of Las Vegas” rating by the Las Vegas Review Journal and Billboard Magazine says “Dian lets her singing - and beautiful, melodic, fully produced composition - hold court.” Diaz has performed for some of the world’s biggest stars including, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Matt Damon to name a few.
Diaz grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and began her singing career at the age of
nine. Her first big break came when she was hired to back up international superstar Luis Miguel on his world tour. Her amazing vocal talent attracted Miguel’s attention, and soon she was a featured in his show performing a duet of “How Do You Keep The Music Playing”. Diaz has shared the stage with Earth Wind and Fire, U2’s Bono, R. Kelly, Luis Miguel, Chuck Mangione, Spyro Gyra and Jean Luc-Ponti. When MGM Resorts International’s Bellagio Hotel opened in Las Vegas in 1998, she was invited to be the feature headliner in its Fontana Room. Her rhythmic versatility, bilingual ability and vocal range make Diaz a force in music genres from Pop to R&B and Latin. With a repertoire exceeding 500 songs, Dian has the ability to perform a full evening’s show in virtually any style of popular music.
Diaz was featured on the “Music of Love – For Tomorrow’s Children” album, benefiting UNICEF. She performed “Spirit Is Here To Lift You Up”. This album also included performances by Sting, Yolanda Adams, Stevie Wonder, Enya, En Vogue and others. Diaz was also featured on the O’Jays “For the Love” album with the song “Latin Lover.”
In 2006, Diaz released her self-titled CD, to popular and critical acclaim. Her unique vocal style was embraced by audiences as well as industry insiders, and the album’s first single, “Colour Everywhere,” soared to the # 23 spot on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The ballad, a testament to the vibrant, life-enhancing power of love, was co-written by Guy Roche & Shelly Peiken, who have penned tunes for Brandy, Cher, Christina Aguilera and others. “No More Tears,” which has an acoustic bolero flavor, was the second single on Dian’s album and was # 38 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.
The gifted vocalist’s songwriting talents are also displayed on the album, as Dian worked with multi-platinum artist Narada Michael Walden, who has produced and/or co-written #1 hits by Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey (“Vision of Love”), Aretha Franklin (“Freeway of Love”), and Lisa Fischer (“How Can I Ease the Pain”) among others. Diaz collaborated with Walden on three tracks from the album: the passionate “Willing To Love,” the hip-shaking “Just Ain’t Feeling It” and the seductive “Lay It On The Line.” Also contributing to the album were songwriters Carvin Haggins, Andre Harris & Vidal Davis, who co-wrote the sexy Latin groove of “This Night.” The trio, from DJ Jazzy Jeff’s famed A Touch of Jazz production crew, has contributed R&B hits to Mary J. Blige, Usher, Alicia Keys and Jamie Foxx.
