Beau Rivage Resort & Casino Gumbo Team named Grand Champion of the Biloxi Seafood Festival Gumbo Championship for Second Year in a Row.
The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino Gumbo Team was named Grand Champion of the Biloxi Seafood Festival Sun Herald Gumbo Championship for the second year in a row. The 2019 team included Beau Rivage’s Executive Chef Kristian Wade, Executive Stalla Chef Mark Agent, Assistant Executive Chef Kenneth Taylor and Beau Rivage Butcher Curmis Broome. Team Beau Rivage served more than 65 gallons of gumbo and took home a total of four awards including First Place Professional Division, Best in Show, Best Presentation, and for the third consecutive year People’s Choice.
Executive Chef Kristian Wade says, “It is truly an awesome feeling to participate in this community event and compete side by side with such talent. We are honored to have won again.”
The festival celebrates the rich history of seafood in the City of Biloxi. It is also the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce’s largest fundraising event. The public paid a small fee for entry to the gumbo competition to sample the variety of gumbo from competitors, 100 percent of the net proceeds raised went towards the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce’s programs.
